Grape Variety : Merlot (50%) – Xinomavro (50%)
The aromatic complexity in the nose and mouth is impressive. This complexity has very interesting spicy characteristics and a cosmopolitan touch that amounts too much more than what is expected by each variety separately. The aromas alternately coming out are those of dark fruit, chocolate, pipe tobacco and allspice. What is most interesting is the fact that the nose of the wine develops- rather transforms itself- while in the glass, and this is evidence of the wines’ elaborate fullness. The structure in the mouth is absolutely balanced. The wine is robust and full, however in terms of its tannins and acidity, the intensity shows absolutely no imbalance. The aftertaste is sweet and long lasting, as expected of a good red wine.
Food matches : Game, red meat, yellow cheese and complex salads.
Serve : Transfer into a pitcher before serving. As all aged wines it needs time to breathe. Ideal serving temperature: 17-18°C.
